Privacy policy

What we collect

To fulfil an order we collect your name, email address, delivery address, and phone number if you give one. We keep a record of what you bought and when.

We also collect basic technical information — IP address, browser type, pages viewed — which is normal for any website and helps us keep the shop working.

Payment details

We never see or store your card number. Payments are processed by Stripe on their own hosted page; we receive only the fact that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the last-four digits Stripe shows us.

Stripe's handling of your data is governed by their privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Advertising and analytics

We use the Meta pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure which adverts lead to sales. This means some information about your visit and purchase is shared with Meta, including a hashed (irreversibly scrambled) version of your email address and delivery details, so Meta can match it to an account without us handing over the raw values.

You can limit this in your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and by using your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker.

Cookies

We use a cookie to remember your language choice and your basket, and Meta sets cookies for advertising measurement as described above.

Blocking cookies in your browser will stop the advertising ones. The basket and language cookies are needed for the shop to work.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes, which is typically several years.

If you ask us to delete your data we'll do so except where we're legally required to keep a record of a sale.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@chillmypet.com and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

If you're in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Who we share with

Only the parties needed to run the shop: Stripe for payment, our shipping carrier for delivery, and Meta for advertising measurement as described above. We don't sell your data.
